With our beloved British weather I have always suffered from dry and chapped lips, in the summer they feel hard and in the winter they split from going between the cold wind to the dry central heating. I’ve always used vaseline as a lip balm which I find can be quite gloopy, it usually forms a gooey line across the length of my bottom lip after several minutes and gathers in awful blobs at the corners of my mouth when I don’t realise.

Aloe Lips boasts the finest ingredients of aloe vera, jojoba and beeswax to create year-round lip care that soothes, smoothes and moisturises dry lips whilst providing protection against the sun, wind and cold. Breaking the seal of the 0.15oz chap stick, I popped off the lid and couldn’t resist giving it a sniff. It smells delicious, sweet like honey and fresh like citrus but I have to say it looks a lot like any other ordinary chap stick with its translucent off-white moist waxy texture. The proof shall very much be in the pudding!

Running the stick across my bottom lip I instantly realised why this was different, it didn’t drag across my skin, it didn’t need encouragement to release moisture like some balms that resemble bars of soap and need a good lick first and a few rubs to get going; it simply glided, glossed and instantly smoothed and plumped my lips to feel perfectly soft and kissable in an instance. Aloe Lips is a juicy stick that is moist like a gloss yet not as loose, and firm like a balm but not as goopy. It’s almost a hybrid of the two mixing functional with fashion, it’s neither inconvenient nor unnecessary just beautifully fulfilling, soothing and a joy to use. After reapplying it a few times across today my lips are looking and feeling fabulous and I have been converted to the wonders of Aloe Vera.
